For generations of Downriver families, Fantasyland in Lincoln Park, has been a cherished holiday tradition. First created in 1964, Fantasyland began as a community-driven Christmas display and has grown into one of the region’s most beloved seasonal attractions. Each year, volunteers transform the space into a magical winter wonderland filled with festive scenes, lights, music, and the spirit of the holidays.
Located inside the Kennedy Memorial Building at 3240 Ferris Avenue, Fantasyland invites visitors to step into a world inspired by the North Pole. Guests can explore themed displays featuring Santa’s workshop, elves preparing for Christmas, and whimsical holiday scenes designed to delight children and adults alike.

What makes Fantasyland truly special is the community behind it. Organized by the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce and supported by countless volunteers, the attraction is built and maintained each year through the dedication of local residents who work for weeks to bring the displays to life. Many of the original decorations created decades ago are still part of the experience, with new additions introduced over time to keep the tradition fresh for new generations.
More than just a holiday display, Fantasyland is a place where families create lasting memories. From meeting Santa to exploring the festive scenes and model train displays, visitors return year after year to share in a tradition that has been spreading holiday cheer in the Downriver community for over sixty years.

Fantasyland opening day is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year it is November 28th. Our opening day kicks off with our Mayor, Santa and Mrs. Claus at the annual ribbon cutting ceremony. It's a fun-filled day you won't want to miss!
Our regular hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 4pm-8pm. Saturday and Sunday we are open 2pm-8pm. We are closed Monday and Tuesday (with the exception of a few special events on Monday).
Our season for 2026 will be November 28 - December 24th. We are open on Christmas Eve from 10am-2pm.
Fantasyland is a non-ticketed experience (excluding our Sensory-Friendly nights which do require tickets for admission). That means you can stop in anytime during our open hours! Lines do get long the closer it gets to Christmas, so dress warm if have to wait outside.
Admission pricing will be announced closer to the season opening. We strive to keep our experience affordable for all!
We sure do! Photos with Santa are 4x6 size and come in a photo sleeve.
The dates for our 2026 Sensory-Friendly nights are still TBD. We will post as soon as we know! It is a ticketed event and tickets can be purchased online. Stay tuned for more information!
Note- Our Sensory Friendly Night helps create a calmer environment by controlling the number of guests in the building at one time. Because Fantasyland includes Christmas light displays, the lights will remain on and there will still be some Christmas music playing.
-Our entrance is facing Ferris and our parking lot is closer to Fort St. The doors located near the parking lot are the exit doors
-We recommend coming earlier in the season or weeknights to avoid longer lines
-There are stairs to climb to see our Festival of Trees and Santa. If you are not able to climb stairs and wish to see Santa, please let the volunteers near the entrance know and we will try to make accommodations. There is not an elevator in the building. A volunteer can help park your stroller.
